Kim Messer is a writer and creative consultant who celebrates art in worship and who loves to help cultivate other artists. During her career, she has edited over 1,500 scripts, musicals and plays. These days much of her time is split between writing, script consultation, and creative event management.
She has spent time on stage, back stage, in recording studios as actor and producer, and behind the camera as video director and producer. She has written and produced multiple scripts and musicals and co-authored the book Scriptwriting with Martha Bolton. She served as the Board Chair for Christians in Theatre Arts (CITA) for several years, and is currently CITA’s Social Media and Development Consultant.
Kim is amazed that she has worked for such a variety of companies and organizations such as Nashville Children’s Theatre, St. George’s Institute of Church and Cultural Life, WaterBrook Press, Word Music, Pine Lake Music, LifeWay, Brentwood Benson, Saddleback Church and Lillenas Publishing Company.
Current projects and passions range from editing a memoir and two musicals for several clients, writing two books of her own, and working on productions such as the recent Music City Baroque Fiddling Project II: Tracing Tennessee’s Musical Roots.
When she isn’t writing, Kim spends time running, cooking and eating while she tries to keep up with her daughter’s social and artistic calendar. Kim lives, works and plays in the Nashville area.
